wd~50, New York

Eggs Benedict is genius. It’s eggs covered in eggs. I mean, come on, that person should be the president.

If you prefer art over porn, then get yourself to wd~50, 50 Clinton Street, New York, Tel +1 212 477 2900. Because art is the best way to describe Wylie Dufresne's eggs benedict. Not so much an object of lust, as something to stare at, contemplate and admire.

So how do you turn eggs benedict into a work of art? You season and slow poach the yolks in a cyclindrical sleeve to create a column of fudgy egg. You spear that with a wafer of crispy bacon. Then you seal a cube of hollandaise inside a crust of muffin crumbs and deep fry till golden brown. Easy.

Just don't expect deep satisfaction. This is Picaso, not porno, and in two mouthfuls it's gone.

Oh dear...a deconstructed breakfast.

It actually looks interesting. I am guessing the croquette is the hollandaise. But I gotta ask...which bit is the poached egg?

Wow - we should all feel so privileged - a grand total of three entries in two months...and this isn't even a review.

Why don't you just admit you've 'outgrown' your blog and shut it down or let it RIP.

Or if you are genuinely too busy at the moment, then do the readers the courtesy of letting them know, and put it into temporary hiatus.

I hope you aren't expecting any votes in the bloggies this year.

Really confused why people take the slow blogging personally. The nature of a blog is that it's somebody else's personal space and vision.

I suppose I understand and relate to feeling disappointed that something you enjoyed has changed, but it's a strange reaction I think to rag on him for running his website the way he wants to.

It's been said very well recently:

"If you don’t like it, you have every right to deprive those sites of your valuable participation."

Dropping in via WTBAY. Mm I have to say that I would have to eat two breakfasts then. I know very uncultured. My ex used to own a fine dining restaurant - so well used to all these small delicious portions. And what did I crave? A steak and salad. Sad but true. Love to hear about your experiences in the US as an Aussie.
