Retro, Fitzroy

A nice fat, spicy, greasy sausage and a big pile of tasty bacon. Key ingredients in the "hangover brekkie" at Retro Cafe, 413 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, Tel 61 3 9419 9103. Throw in a nice thick hollandaise, a fried hash brown (mass produced), toast and mushies (or tomato), and you have quite an impressive fry-up.

On the hangover theme, the Virgin Mary is also a great addition to breakfast at Retro

Screw that! The Bloody Mary comes out as a shot of vodka, a bottle of tomato juice, tabasco, whortershire sauce and couple of slices of lemon. Mix to your own taste

Do not eat at retro, from what i have heard from previous wait and kitchen staff their kitchen hygeine was thrown out the window years ago, although i will admit the bloody mary's are very good
