What a Croque

I was quite looking forward to my Croque Monsieur at Bistro Vite, Southgate, Melbourne, Tel +61 3 9690 9271. It's a French restaurant. They even had someone with a real French accent. So I guess I had high expectations. And although it was quite enjoyable, it wasn't exactly premier cru. They used skinny slices of cheap white bread.

Finding your blog is like dying and going to heaven. I love brekkie and have spent many mornings at Bathers in Sydney, grazing on eggs benedict. I found your blog whilst reminiscing about Bather's.

However. As luck would have it (?), I moved from beach-side Sydney to land-locked Sacramento (California) in Dec 05 and am still feverishly scouring the landscape for a decent breakfast.

I'm trying to raise the bar higher than merely 'edible', but the majority of American food is anything but. They overdress, overstuff and overglaze everything.

If nothing else, I've bookmarked your site so that I can gaze longingly at the piccies. It's the bees knees.

Thank you for loving brekkie!

that's what you get for consuming anything at that riverside abomination! "come friendly bombs and fall on southgate..." full of cashed-up/taste-devoid zombies, tourists and fools who think just cos it's next to the river and there's lots of (equally rubbish) outlets and it's all shiny that it must be good. they probably think docklands is a good idea too. knobs.
